Sound Sanctuary RGV
Sound meditation you participate in. Drum circles, shamanic drum healing, and rhythm-based wellness for groups and individuals.
What Is the Rhythm Dojo
Sound Sanctuary sessions are receptive — you lie back and let the sound work. The Rhythm Dojo is different. Here, you pick up a drum and join in.
Rhythm is one of the oldest healing technologies on earth. Drum circles have been used across cultures for thousands of years to build community, release tension, and shift states of consciousness. The Rhythm Dojo brings that tradition into a modern, accessible format — no experience, no musical background required.
Shamanic drum healing takes it further — using specific rhythmic patterns to facilitate deep relaxation, inner journeying, and energetic release. Guided by Mike, these sessions draw on cross-cultural shamanic traditions.
Group rhythm sessions where everyone plays. Instruments provided. No experience needed. Builds connection, releases stress, and is genuinely fun.

The Science
Rhythmic drumming at specific tempos (around 4–7 Hz) induces theta brainwave states — the same state associated with deep meditation, creativity, and the hypnagogic zone between waking and sleep. You don't need to know any of this to benefit from it. Your nervous system figures it out on its own.
Group drumming adds another layer: entrainment. When multiple people drum together, their rhythms synchronize — and so do their nervous systems. This is why drum circles have been used for community healing across virtually every culture on earth.
At the Rhythm Dojo, we use these principles practically. No mysticism required, though you're welcome to bring your own.
Instruments provided. No experience required. Contact us to schedule a session or ask about upcoming drum circles.
